It's Labor Day here in the United States, the three-day holiday weekend that marks the unofficial end of summer. While no one really believes or adheres to that old-fashioned rule about wearing white only before Labor Day, it does make for a nice excuse for us to feature a few of our favorite bleached-out watches.
Whether it's white ceramic, white-colored rubber, or just a whitened dial, the color certainly makes a louder statement than black, more commonly found in watches. Still, some timepieces are so good that we can't help but think we'll be reaching for them (or dreaming about longing for them) long after the temperatures have dropped and the pumpkin spice is hot. With that, here are a few of our favorite wrist watches, no matter the time of year. In some ways, I hate myself for picking such a "hype" watch, but when Tony said "white watch, " the AP Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in bright ceramic was the first thing that came to mind. And for good reason. This was (and I say was) one of the boldest designer watches in AP's lineup. And I admit, just like I used to feel about the Royal Oak in general, I really, truly didn't like this watch at first. More so, I didn't love the idea of any watch that screamed "Look at me" like a colored ceramic view on a coloured bracelet does. And yet, here we are, partly because We still see Audemars Piguet as the master of ceramic and expressly because this enjoy is so loud. Sometimes, I actually picture myself as a different person, a movie star or even celebrity associated with some kind that can wear the white hard Royal Maple, and everyone says, "Yeah, that's just Mark; he's confident, loud, and stylish. " It can nice to dream, however who am I kidding?
Now, I said it was the actual boldest see in AP's lineup, and that's for two reasons. One, AP released their even crazier blue fine ceramic last year, and unlike light, which may blend in with an outfit, the blue is just L-O-U-D loud. But the white disappeared from the brand's website sometime after they released the glowing blue version. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I guess, because now I miss it.
