FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Typically, only friends are allowed to refer to each other by their nicknames. If thats true, Gronk and Marty are quickly on their way to becoming bros.Outside of Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski has easily been the most indispensable player on the New England Patriots offense, celebrated equally for his brute athleticism and one-of-a-kind personality. But that success has come at the expense of his body at times the past few seasons as team have keyed on Bradys favorite target.Enter Martellus Bennett, who is still learning about life in New England since being acquired in a March trade with Chicago. At 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, he may be the only other guy in the NFL that can match Gronks size (6-6, 265), skillset and freewheeling style.Bennett arrived at training camp in the final year of the four-year, $20 million contract he signed with the Bears in 2013. He is looking for fresh start after becoming frustrated by managements unwillingness to extend him in Chicago, where made the Pro Bowl in 2014.With a year to prove himself on a perennial competitor, the 29-year-old said Friday that his short time with the Patriots has helped to re-energize him after he missed five games last season with a rib injury.I really havent had that much football in a long time, Bennett said. Its like when you break up and finally get back together with the girl you love in the first place. So its been great to be back out there.Hes having just as much fun with his new teammates -- Gronkowski, in particular. The pair has been exchanging both moves and jokes on the field since minicamp, and has been seen over the first two training camp practices working individually with Brady in drills to try to develop some chemistry. The primary focus is just getting everyone on the same page, Gronkowski said. Ive been doing it with him for seven years now, so we kind of have the same chemistry right when we hit the field. I know where hes going to usually put it. I know that he knows where Im going to be, but obviously my rookie year I didnt know that and as Marty is being kind of a rookie here, its cool to see everyone work together, help each other out, and just go over and get some extra work.Bennett is leaning on some of his past associations with big time past catchers to guide his latest transition.Thats really exciting because I was fortunate to play with Brandon Marshall for a long time, and I learned my game from him, he said. Now to be with another great player like Rob -- he does so many different things well. When you watch tape you know hes really good, but when youre right there next to him youre like, `Man this guy is really good.A peek of what the pairs combined bravado looks like is also already showing up at times.During a drill Friday, Bennett leaped to catch a pass over Patrick Chung, and then placed the ball at Chungs feet.A few plays later, after Gronkowski had jawed a bit with the defense following a catch in the end zone, Donta Hightower slung the football at him as he jogged away.Thats just football. Thats just what it is, Bennett said. I like guys that have an edge. And I think a lot of guys on this team have an edge. Not in terms of record-breaking speed, but McCullums ton on the first day of the second Test against Australia sees him join Hussain as a century scorer in his final Test.Heres a look at a few other notable final-Test tons, including that one of Nassers…Nasser HussainSky Sports very own Hussain signed off with a match-winning unbeaten 103 against New Zealand at Lords in 2004. And just as well, too, as Hussain had run out home favourite Andrew Strauss on 83, with the left-hander chasing a second hundred on his debut Test. Nasser Hussain celebrates after hitting the winning runs against New Zealand McCullum was playing in the game, in only his fourth Test - bizarrely batting at nine in the order in the first innings but hitting an important 96 when pushed up to three in the second innings. His efforts set England a stiff target of 282 to chase on the final day, but Strauss runs and Hussains heroic hundred saw England ultimately win comfortably by seven wickets - Hussain fittingly bowing out with his good friend Graham Thorpe, who hit fifty, there with him when he hit the winning runs.Jacques KallisHe is arguably the greatest all-rounder ever, greatest player of all-time even, so its no real surprise to see Kallis name on this list. In his 166th Test against India in Durban in 2013, Kallis cracked a crucial first-innings 113, occupying the crease for 393 minutes and 316 balls. Jacques Kallis is held aloft by team-mates on a lap of honour in his final Test Kallis had tears in his eyes as he received a standing ovation from the Kingsmead crowd when he reached his hundred, his 45th in Tests - a figure bettered only by the 51 scored by Sachin Tendulkar. The runs moved him up to third on the list of top Test run scorers - trailing Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting - and saw South Africa to a score of 500 in reply to Indias 334, helping set up a 10-wicket win to secure the series.Jason GillespieYes, Jason Gillespie. Not only did Gillespie score a ton in his final Test, it was a double. Dropped in the immediate aftermath of a bitterly disappointing 2005 Ashes seriess, Gillespie returned to the side for the 2006 tour of Bangladesh.dddddddddddd He was named man of the series after taking eight wickets in the two Tests but more significantly scored 201 when batting at three as night-watchman for Australia. Jason Gillespie celebrates his double century against Bangladesh He put on 320 for the fourth wicket with Mike Hussey (182), scoring his maiden Test ton, then turned it into a double, but Gillespie was never selected to play for Australia again. He is one of only five players to score a double century in their final Test, with Englands Andy Sandham notching the highest score, 325 against the West Indies in 1930.Andy GanteaumeGanteaumes ton came not only in his final Test, but also his first. His 112 in his only Test innings for the West Indies against England in 1948 technically sees him better Bradman, his average eclipsing Dons 99.94, albeit from a smaller sample size. Andy Ganteaume has a better average than Australias Don Bradman, pictured Despite the dream debut, Ganteaume wouldnt play for the West Indies again, with suggestions that his slowed scoring when nearing his hundred possibly cost the side the chance of victory in the drawn Test. Sadly Ganteaume passed away as recently as Wednesday February 17, at the age of 95.Jack RussellNo, not the Jack Russell of battered-sunhat wearing, tea-drinking, painting, and Gloucestershire fame. This Jack Russell was one of the leading batsmen in county cricket during the period after World War I. Russell also played 10 times for England, scoring two hundreds in his final Test against South Africa in Durban in 1923. He followed up a first-innings 140 with 111 in the second, made all the more remarkable, as Wisden noted at the time, due to him battling illness during the game. He was the first English batsman to score centuries in each innings of a Test, and is still the only batsman to ever score back-to-back hundreds in his final game.
