SHANGHAI -- Rikard Karlberg made his World Golf Championships debut with an 8-under 64 on Thursday to take a one-shot lead over Rickie Fowler in the HSBC Champions.Karlberg has only faced a field this strong twice before in the British Open, both times missing the cut. He wanted to treat this like any other event, and on a soggy Sheshan International course, he made it look easy.Karlberg was 9 under through 16 holes and challenging the course record when he came up short on the par-3 17th, nearly in a hazard, and managed to save par. He wasnt so fortunate on the par-5 closing hole after driving into a bunker. He caught too much sand, couldnt reach the green with his third and took his only bogey.Fowler, in his first competitive round since the Ryder Cup, holed a 15-foot birdie putt on his final hole for a 65 that had him thinking about an HSBC sweep. He won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in January, so far his only victory this year.Fowler was particularly efficient on the par 5s, reaching two of them in two shots for eagle chances and leaving a simple up-and-down on the 14th hole for another birdie. He also chipped in from just off the green on the 17th.Defending champion Russell Lnox, Daniel Berger and Hideki Matsuyama were at 66.Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson never got anything going. McIlroy had a 71, while Johnson struggled to hit fairways and made only one birdie in a 74.SIME DARBY LPGA MALAYSIAKUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Amy Yang took the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia lead, and Michelle Wie had her best score in more than a year. The 27-year-old South Korean player birdied all four par-3 holes at TPC Kuala Lumpur.Wie opened with a 66, breaking 70 for only the fourth time in 68 rounds this year. Adidas Nmd Herren Deutschland Arsenal can lay down a marker in the Premier League title race with a win against Manchester United on Saturday, says Graeme Souness. The two sides go head-to-head in the ReUnited fixture, live on Sky Sports this Saturday as Jose Mourinho faces old foe Arsene Wenger for the first time since taking charge at Old Trafford.Mourinho has had a rocky start with the 13-time Premier League champions, who lie sixth in the table, while Arsenal are unbeaten since the opening day of the season and sit just two points off leaders Liverpool. With this seasons title race set to be one of the tightest in years, former Liverpool manager Souness believes the Gunners can send a message to their title rivals with a victory at United. This Saturday sees Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger resume their rivalry as Manchester Utd host Arsenal live on Sky Sports Im not sure they will win it but if they were to get a result at Old Trafford tomorrow, it would go a long way to setting down a marker, he told Sky Sports News HQ.I dont see a great difference between this Arsenal team and other teams from the last decade. If you sit back off them, they will pass you to death and score more than one goal against you and embarrass you. Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham The two managers dont like each other very much and the players will be very much aware of that.dddddddddddd What happens on the pitch will be very interesting too because you have an Arsenal team that appear to be on fire and see themselves as genuine title contenders. If they go to Old Trafford and get a result then they can say to people that this might just be their year at long last.Despite their strong start to the season, Souness has questioned if Arsenal can show the right qualities needed to win the title for the first time since 2004. Have they got the real metal when push comes to shove when the games get a bit meaty and the league gets a bit tight towards the end?, the Sky Sports pundit added. Swansea 1-3 Manchester Utd Have they got that in the squad with the real characters, the ones that will pull people through the darker moments? Im still not convinced at that.Arsene constantly talks about the character in the team and they have got to start showing it. Character is going to Old Trafford and winning. Thats what tomorrow is all about, going there and showing what character is all about.Upgrade to Sky Sports now to watch Man Utd v Arsenal this Saturday and get the first six months half price!
